Automates Alerting system in medical emergencies

Automated alerting system in medical emergencies .

INTRODUCTION

Traditional medical emergency systems rely on triggering phone calls

manually by the patients, which have activation delays and in some adverse cases due instant

emergency the patient is unable to trigger the call which leads to extreme medical conditions.

In order to counter the above stated problem Automated Alert and Activation of Medical

Emergency systems are introduced. Timely recognition of warning signs from deteriorating

patients and proper treatment are important in improving patient safety.

In comparison to the traditional medical emergency team (MET) activation triggered by phone calls, automated activation of MET may minimize activation delays and lead to better clinical outcomes.

PROCESS OVERVIEW

All of these sensors are connected to miTag which is a low power chipset.

miTag transmits all the data to to miTag Server-based Software.

A central server, designed with service oriented architecture principles, processes sensor data from multiple sensor networks and disseminates it to hospitals data display software in real time.

Display software is capable of analysing any abnormal trends in the software data and deliver a emergency notification in case of emergency.

And this real time data is also stored in the server for further analysis and to help in further treatment.

SENSOR USED.

The miTag is a highly extensible and modular wireless sensor platform. It collects data from various sensors for instance

The pulse oximetry sensor

the Smith Medical Micropower SpO2

blood pressure

ECG sensor

The temperature sensor
